Public toilets down the drain

We all secretly sympathise with someone in search of the lavatory. While the public toilet brings happiness and security to millions, the community loo is down 40% since 2001. Gone are the days of the lavatory attendant on duty in the Ladies Loo, neatly attired in crisp white uniform and offering clean paper towels to respectful visitors. So are the men’s attendants, drinking beer with his mates outside. ‘Another world is lost’, says Michele Hanson of the Guardian.
