Conrad Hotels and Resorts has started offering a choice of 75 ‘destination-based and mood-inspired’ pillows designed to provide a range of assistance for those trying to sleep. Pillows available to clients include the ‘Anti-snore Pillow’, the eucalyptus-infused ‘Cold and Flu Pillow’ and the ylang ylang oil aphrodisiac ‘Romance Pillow’. One of the most unusual pillows, offered at the Conrad Centennial Singapore hotel, is the porcelain head rest, invented in the Sui Dynasty, AD 581-618, which supports the neck and protects hairstyles from being crushed.
he pillows must be ordered by calling the hotel ahead of arrival and are subject to availability. One woman said of the porcelain pillow: ‘Some people do request them, though I prefer something a little bit softer.’
